I'm typing with 9 fingers today, not as easy as it sounds! Smashed my finger over the weekend, of course it would have to be my right index, shooting, photoshopping, need-it-for-every-photo-function finger. My story is "I wrestled a wild tiger" and I'm sticking to it.
You want to see pictures here, right? So, here we are! My good friends Karissa and John live in the Bay Area and invited me to shoot their engagement session in the scenic part of the city. They are ultra cute in love and enjoy being together, especially in front of the camera. John and I go WAY back! I went to Heidelberg High School in Germany with him, in fact he was in the rat pack with my older brother. They teased me, but John was always a nice guy to everyone. I like to think of him as "my brother from another mother." Karissa is peaches and cream, she is the perfect woman for him and vice versa. Its amazing to know John and see him all grown up with this amazing woman!! I can't imagine a more perfect match, its too cool for words! Thanks Karissa and John!!
To my blogstalkers, thanks for visiting and enjoy these favorites from their session.

Its Friday! I'm pleased to share a cute couple with you on this awesome Friday afternoon. Kristen and Will are outdoorsy people and were a perfect fit for the Robinswood house on the Eastside of Seattle. The mixture of giant logs, lush greens, and punches of color dappled in the backgorund for a perfect spring inspired session. They brought a fabulous canine with them, by far one of the best trained dogs I've ever seen! He could be seated on a dime, trained for duckhunting he is no stranger to being told what to do. It was a cinch to work with him and I loved his big personality! Thanks Kristin and Will for a great shoot, can't wait to blog your wedding!

| I'm delighted to share an engagement session with Rebecca and Alex. I photographed them in Oakland in June, they are my 10.10.10 couple and completely super rad to say the least! We trotted around their neighborhood for a great session at the perfect time of day when the sun is sparkly, warm, and delicious. The light in CA is simply amazing. These two lovebirds can't take a bad picture and I was elated to find Rebecca went out of her way to coordinate an ultra girly outfit. We connected like old friends from grade school, even though most of our correspondance has been over email or telephone since they hired me as their wedding photographer. Enjoy some of my favorites from their session!

| Are you ready for fall? It came on too quickly this year! While the summer begins to cool off and fall starts to peek at us over the horizon, I am having a dandy time working on several new spreads for studio albums. Everything is new these days, new website, new studio stamples, new new new! Here is a spread from the lovely couple Christine and Michael. She wore a beautiful asymmetric custom necklace and rhinestone headband. Unique details played up her gorgeous long curly locks and plunging neckline. Their wedding took place at the Mission Inn in Riverside, CA.

I'd like to share updates from the studio. 12 months ago if you told me how much work goes into furnishing and flipping a space this size, I might have changed my mind about moving in! There are other great spaces in Tacoma, but this studio is a nugget of surprises.
Studio 10 is a great daylight space with scruffy hardwoods and 9 large windows. The beveled glass and old school architecture give it a funky vibe, check out this link of how it looked before a facelift. The color pallette was ketchup and mustard. Today it feels more casual and airy, several windows actually open (shock) and the breeze to the 2nd floor is heavenly in the summertime. The windows face South and West. The size can accomodate all kinds of photo shoots, parties and and even yoga classes. Originally my goal was to work here in the space, but I wanted to open it to photographers anytime day or night, because I travel quite frequently and don't always use it.
I snapped these on my way out the other day, the light was so pretty I couldn't resist. The space is 1300 sqft, it is available for rent on a daily basis, weekly, and partner structure. Lighting, extra gear, stands are on-site and available for rent. There is an extensive library of lighting books and basic lighting setup assistance if needed. If interested, be sure to email me here: april@aprilgreer.com

| This particular spot is surrounded by wispy curtains and drapery. The pocket of soft light comes through this window throughout the day. Its amazing how gentle the light is! This indoor studio has been amazing to use during the 10 months it rains here. You won't find props, patterened backdrops, or feather boas here, its is a genuinely unique open space.
