I'm typing with 9 fingers today, not as easy as it sounds! Smashed my finger over the weekend, of course it would have to be my right index, shooting, photoshopping, need-it-for-every-photo-function finger. My story is "I wrestled a wild tiger" and I'm sticking to it.

You want to see pictures here, right? So, here we are! My good friends Karissa and John live in the Bay Area and invited me to shoot their engagement session in the scenic part of the city. They are ultra cute in love and enjoy being together, especially in front of the camera. John and I go WAY back! I went to Heidelberg High School in Germany with him, in fact he was in the rat pack with my older brother. They teased me, but John was always a nice guy to everyone. I like to think of him as "my brother from another mother." Karissa is peaches and cream, she is the perfect woman for him and vice versa. Its amazing to know John and see him all grown up with this amazing woman!! I can't imagine a more perfect match, its too cool for words! Thanks Karissa and John!!
To my blogstalkers, thanks for visiting and enjoy these favorites from their session.

Its Friday!  I'm pleased to share a cute couple with you on this awesome Friday afternoon. Kristen and Will are outdoorsy people and were a perfect fit for the Robinswood house on the Eastside of Seattle. The mixture of giant logs, lush greens, and punches of color dappled in the backgorund for a perfect spring inspired session. They brought a fabulous canine with them, by far one of the best trained dogs I've ever seen! He could be seated on a dime, trained for duckhunting he is no stranger to being told what to do. It was a cinch to work with him and I loved his big personality! Thanks Kristin and Will for a great shoot, can't wait to blog your wedding!

I'm delighted to share an engagement session with Rebecca and Alex. I photographed them in Oakland in June, they are my 10.10.10 couple and completely super rad to say the least!  We trotted around their neighborhood for a great session at the perfect time of day when the sun is sparkly, warm, and delicious.  The light in CA is simply amazing. These two lovebirds can't take a bad picture and I was elated to find Rebecca went out of her way to coordinate an ultra girly outfit. We connected like old friends from grade school, even though most of our correspondance has been over email or telephone since they hired me as their wedding photographer. Enjoy some of my favorites from their session!

I enjoy honesty and cold sensible pragmatism.  Julia let me have it! While brainstorming for their e-session, I brought up the Sculpture park, assuming she was like most other people in Seattle who are ga-ga over it. Don't get me wrong, its a nice place, I just shoot there A LOT.

Our convo went something like this:
Me: I shoot at the sculpture park a lot.
Julia:  Are you SO over the sculpture park?
Me:  Honestly?
Julia:  Mmm  Hmm.
Me:  TOTALLY!

I appreciate Julia's honesty and love it!  We jabbered on and on about ideas and she actually wanted to shoot in T-town. Why does this place have such a bad reputation? Goodness sakes! We had a blast here!!!  Fast forward to our session in October where the clouds unzipped and dumped buckets of water.  Julia has been following my blog for a LONG time and I would hate to disappoint.  To my surprise, the rain didn't phase her! We rocked out the session with vibrant colors and quirky spots.

The big news, is that they are getting married THIS WEEKEND and I am delighted to be there to capture all kinds of candid moments. If I was any happier, I'd split in two.  I love being a photographer! Thanks Julia and Jason for being adventurous. See you at the Fairmont!

In early September i took a fabulous trip to Santa Barbara. It was a lovely day, warm, sunny, typical California weather. I shot with Tammy Morse and James Ory at a beach in Santa Barbara . I loved this cliffside setting. James scouted this place long ago and felt it was perfect. I have to agree! In February I'm flying to Phoenix to shoot their Montelucia wedding.  Their engagement session was several hours long, it was an extended shoot, but all the more fun.

They have an amazing energy together, playful, loving, sweeet, and genuine. It makees taking pictures super easy.

i like James. I really really like him.  You never know what he's going to say. You never know what he's going to do next. He is just James. Unpredictable and charming. Someone who knows himself and doesn't really give a shit about what other people think. Taking pictures of people who are honest with themselves is like stealing candy from a baby.

Made it just in time for sunset. Ahh.

I *heart*  NYC.     Please meet Buffy and Todd.  They gifted me creative license to do whateva. So that's what I did.

The first idea that came to mind when I saw their pad, was shooting here.

I love Todd's smile. He rocks the gap.

She's a PYT.

Exploring dark places, like hotel reception desks.

A unique check in counter to say the least.

I especially enjoyed this one because of its quirkyness.

See you in a few weeks lovebirds! Thank you for making it lovelier than ever could be expected.

On Kauai it seems to rain nearly everyday. While shooting Melody and Nick's lovestory session, it began to POUR. Fat droplets took over while the sun peeked through the clouds. Not to worry. It rarely lasts more than 5 minutes. My thing is vibrant color photography, but this one was so serene, it didn't need color. I underexposed to pull in the clouds. ISO 400,  1/100 at f/14.  with the sexy 24mm lens.  You'll love Melody & Nick's groovy island wedding, but hang tight while I unpack my suitcases and get caught up with boudoir, engagement and weddings. This blog will be hoppin again in no time. Congrats to Nemo (their wedding nickname) and Happy Birthday to Melody!
