Jen turned out a fantastic shoot this week. Its not boudoir, not exactly fashion. Call it delicious.  She rocked out a badass hairstyle. Very enjoyable shoot, she's got lots of energy!

skadoosh, here it is! turn up the speakers, turn down the lights, and get out your dumbells.

Sean: chief marketing director
Kelly: assistant & comic
Kenny: bodybuilder
April:  photog

And no you can't get like this overnight. or in 2 years. or in 5. It takes many, many long years to develop definition and tweak it to one's own genetic perfection.

Aside from weddings, I LOVE working with motivated people such as : bodybuilders!

These people devote themselves month after month to dieting, excercise and donut-deprivation. Yesterday Sean from Panthera Labs flew in from NY for a photo shoot with Seattle's monster arms- Kenny Gipson.  Kelly Chandler joined us for the party and together we cranked out some incredible shots for Panthera. The pics will be the spotline of Panthera's ad in Flex magazine & Muscle & Development. Congrats Kenny on being in great shape and partnering with a great company!! This marks my 4th magazine publication and first national magazine print ad! Joy!

Here's a snapshot from the awesome dashboard of Adobe Lightroom for you photogs out there who haven't made the leap yet. Processing RAW files is lightning fast using LR. Here's a snapshot from the driver's side.

I'm dying to post pics of Kenny, just a few more tweaks before they're ready.  You won't believe his size & vascularity.

ALSO:  Wedding debuts from Julie & Tim's wedding coming this week & Ramona & Nik's wedding mid-to end of next week... Lots of juicy things around the corner. I know I'm slow on posting, but customers come first. :-)

Have a great Wednesday!

07.18.08  |  Weddings

Sorry for the lack of photo posts lately! Um...there's no other excuse other the fact that my bags have stayed packed by the door for the last 45 days. As much as we both like to travel, Ray and myself are just a tad petered out!  Not to complain, but all the hard work of losing 12lbs since January did not make it through the most recent round of flight of the navigator. Gained about 6 lbs back.

Wanted to post this wedding earlier in the week, but things kept popping up. And what do you know, today I'm down in Portland! More travel!!! On to the news......Ashley & Trave's wedding took place in Idaho, a state that borders Torronto and Rhode Island. Or least feels that far away riding shotgun.

Kelly's assistant couldn't make it last minute. We jammed 2 huge camera bags of gear into the car (among other family belongings) and jetted to Idaho!  You'll find a more bride-oriented post on her blog. Kelly really outdid herself this time. For this occasion I had 'groomsmen duty" which equated to having LOADS of fun photographing several comical gents.

It started off with a sentimental 'first look' by the docks.

Ashley received compliments on her 'do' throughout the day.  The only other bride I've seen with a similar style was Angela Stugren back in September 2006. Loose tendrils is what the style is called. So I'm told.

So precious.

Its apple juice. Promise.

The bar had delicious lighting streaming through the windows.

Next to marshmellows, mosaics are #1 on my list of favorite things. I had a split-second with the bride during intermission. This was my happy shot. The bride gave me a completely peaceful moment and I figured if this is the only thing I shoot of the bride, all day, it will still be a good day.

Travis, on the other hand, was a happy man!!!  love this moment in time.

Thanks Amy Zundel (for this funny idea) she mentioned many months ago. She said I had to try it, but only with a crowd that would appreciate the joke.

Thanks Travis for giving me the time & respect to capture your portraits, was such a treat to work with you & the boys of Idaho (who are actually all from Seattle). Cheers to Ashley & Travis, have a blast in Mexico! Mucho Caliente!!
